What soap/cream did you use today?

T&H Sandalwood cream; I am not a fan of cream at all but I sure am getting great shaves and enjoying this stuff. I am going to order a tub of it now that my sample has been used up.

How would you describe the scent? I've been hunting for info on the right sandalwood... Something a kind of like Proraso (spicy sandalwood?), but with a bit more lasting scent (and better performance).

Cade v. (L'Occitane en Provence) bergamot, sandalwood, pepper, cade

A puck of Cade fits snug in this mini casserole. The ceramic base and lid are homey yet elegant. I found it in the kitchen gadgets aisle in the grocery store. Should last forever, just like the soap that's in it.

Great idea is that about a one cup size?

I recently replaced the knot with one from TGN. Their 2 band "Finest". Lathered with it for the first time last night. Fantastic! Once it breaks in it will be even better.

I would describe T&H Sandalwood as a more cologne type Sandalwood. I personally do not like Proraso sandalwood, and they do not smell similar at all. The scent will only last so long but I think it smells awesome, that's what makes use it since I don't like cream and their soap pucks don't have tallow so I don't see the point in using them to be honest. I have never used proraso cream, so I cannot comment on that but I have used TOBS and maybe it is just in my head but I believe T&H has better performance than TOBS. I hope this helped.

Thanks. That definitely helps. I'm not big into musk or cologne type scents, so I would probably not like TH. Definitely allows me to tick something off the list of 'to try'. Lol.

The scent I'm actually going for is Duke Cannon Beer soap. It's supposed to be a spicy sandalwood. Since I have had zero luck finding a shave soap like that, figured I'd look for something like Proraso instead. My time with Proraso was a while back, but I recall it being a spicy sandalwood type scent. Figured if I could find that with more staying power (and less diaper ointment after-scent, lol) I'd be happy enough.

The quest continues.
