Vetiver & Oakmoss t. (Mystic Water) garden vetiver
A few years ago when I got interested in scents, I planted a fragrance garden. I guess my thumbs are both brown, because nothing thrived. Today I dug up the last of the aromatic plants, the vetiver grass. It had become a straggly mess, and my wife was giving it stink eye. A healthy vetiver plant will send roots down several feet, but the roots of my poor lump barely grew eight inches into the hard salty soil. To console myself for the plant’s demise I lathered up MW’s Vetiver & Oakmoss. Among all the soaps on my shelf, that one comes closest to my vetiver’s smoky-dirty scent. Unfortunately the lather came out lousy. It’s been too long since I fiddled with this puck, and I’ve forgot all the tricks for conjuring up a full unctuous brush of suds. At least a dusting of Heeley’s Vetiver Veritas parfum offered consolation. Though it starts off minty, within twenty minutes it dries down to true pungent root.
