For me they make mounds of thick cushioning lather and their finish is especially smooth. MT lathers are not necessarily the slickest (I take mine stiff and on the dry side) but that's not really important to me. I'm happy to use them all year round without hesitation. So, yes, this tub of Natural Bay Rum runs with the best in my stable.(04-18-2019, 05:53 AM)Bouki Wrote: Natural Bay Rum v. Anne Bonny v. (Dr. Jon's Shaving Soap Co.) tea, lime, bay
"If you had fought like a man, you would not have been hanged like a dog." – Anne Bonny's last words to her husband, Calico Jack, who was being led to execution for acts of piracy on the high seas
You might expect that a soap named after such a firebrand would harbor some heat. But DJ's Anne Bonny is actually quite mild and civilized. Today's lather smelled like a gentle cup of tea served with a wedge of lime (and a drop of rum). There was West Indies bay in there, too, which very nicely complemented the other notes. Surprisingly, I smelled very little spice. So this soap has taken bay rum in a new and unexpected direction. I really like it, and fans of Noble Otter's Thé Noir et Vanille should feel right at home in Anne Bonny's lather.
