Mysore Sandalwood t. (Nanny's Silly Soap, Traditional) ★★★★★ mild, authentic sandalwood

Those who remember the Seventies may recall the sweet milky scent of true Mysore sandalwood once so common in men's fragrances. To think we used to burn this stuff in sticks of incense we paid pennies for. But those days have disappeared just like the incense smoke, and Mysore sandalwood is now a rare bird. Finding a vendor with a large and steady supply of this aromatic oil is nearly impossible. It's miraculous that Nanny has come across some real Indian sandal and is willing to share it with us. Though not exceptionally strong, Mysore Sandalwood is the bonafide stuff, just the sort of warm woody scent you'd be happy to wear all day and all night for a decade.

The soap has much more going for it than just its nostalgic aroma. I get a great slick lather that yields a perfect shave, and it finishes smooth and dry. Now, if only we could find a New World distributor for Nanny's Traditional soaps.

Same as yesterday. Same type performance. Good shave but I have many others I enjoy more. I'll finishe this sample on this trip and won't post again until something else hits my brush.

This is what I don't like about wet-shaving & traveling. One of the things I love most about WS is the variety of soaps/splashes.

XPEC Unscented shaving cream (first version). It made excellent lather, but I prefer it with a few drops of fragrance added.
