I Coloniali shaving cream, one of the few creams with menthol that I like.

My first time trying Haslinger Schafmilch...

Smell is a bit strong perfume type soap off the puck, but it mellows when whipped up. Upon rinse, it's very light almost medicinal smell?

The shave wasn't particularly slick, but not bad. It did the job. The post shave seems pretty good. I don't feel excessively dry in 18° winter weather here.

I wish they made the soap in a container, though. I had to use a tiny kitchen Tupperware piece to hold it.

Regardless, It was good to finally try Haslinger after so many months of shaving.

Project Leather is a nice bridge between the smoky wood scents of winter and the aromatic notes of early spring, but I have to confess, it strikes me as rather odd. This scent, like many of WK's fragrances, is hard to define. It's obviously leather, but it's not new car seat leather or new shoes leather or bomber jacket leather. Instead, it's brand new baseball glove leather, and it smells like you've been playing catch with a ball that's been lost in the mint patch for a week. It makes me think of what would happen if Colgate decided to make leather flavored toothpaste.

The lather, of course, is thirsty and sublime.

Yeah. Great soap but the scent? I can't use it. Very odd. Toothpaste with dirty sox after wearing cowboy boots?

Your description brought a smile to my face.

Scent associations are definitely powerful. Project Leather reminds me of my grandfather’s comb. He used to carry it in a leather sheath, and I’m guessing that over time, the scent of pomade mixed with the scent of leather. The very first time I smelled Project Leather, I immediately remembered that comb & sheath – from all those many years ago.

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”
