What soap/cream did you use today?

Good luck with the LPL Rose de Pushkar. I've never been able to get it to make a useful lather. I can't imagine what makes it different from the other LPL soaps, but it just doesn't come together for me. I try to resurrect it every so often, but the results are always disappointing.

Houbigant Fougère Royale shaving soap (vintage)

I sure like the scent on this soap.

I sure am a fan of Mickey Lee Soapworks. Samantha makes some awesome suds. Quick and slick. Through the Woods is a seasonal that sure reminds me of Christmas. Pine and fir are front and center but are rounded out with sweetness and ginger. Scent strength is a robust 7.5 of 10. Post shave is top shelf.

Henri et Victoria Cognac and Cuban Cigars

Oud-Santal t. (Le Père Lucien) ★★★★☆ aloeswood & sandalwood

Sixteen shaves into this tub of soap and I've barely nicked the surface. Oud-Santal, stiff and waxy with tallow and Shea, doesn't load easily. That may explain the sub-par lathers I've had from time to time. This morning, in an attempt to remedy this problem, I scraped a fat knob of soap into my scuttle and gave it a long deliberate churning, back and forth, up and down, side to side, and round and round. The lather came out fine and did everything needed for a three-pass shave. I was surprised, though, when I rinsed out the scuttle, to find half the soap still in the bottom. I thought I'd given this lather enough swirlage to strip the glazing off the bowl.

Fine Italian Citrus Shave Soap

I've been on vacation since Thanksgiving Day and only took one soap with me....WSP Summer Breeze

I know many don't like the size of the container and, truth be told, I would prefer a larger tub size. But for travel purposes, the WSP container is very convenient. I've also been on two business trips the past few months and used Summer Breeze for those as well. All in all, I think I've found my "travel" soap
