Lonestar (Noble Otter) cedar, leather, flowers, musk

With a name like Lonestar I was expecting to smell the real heart of Texas, and at first that's exactly what I got. The scent opened with lots of wood and leather, predictable southwestern notes. The first surprise came when the lather started to form. The scent took a turn from cedar scrub and live oak and wandered off into wide open fields of flowers made all the more aromatic with a puff of smoke. A very nice touch. But then it really got weird. Lonestar ended on a clean musky note, the sort that you smell in fabric softener or detergent. I'm not really sure what to make of this. What started out as hike through the Hill Country curiously ended up in Ladybird Johnson's laundry room.

How is the black cherry... Strong or a light scent? Thanks.

It's a solid cherry scent but it is on the lighter side.  If I were to get it again I would probably try the mentholated version.

I have a tiny amount of a rather old sample of Black Cherry still left. I find the scent strength to be relatively strong, though definitely not overpowering. Also, it’s a scent that helps bring a smile on the face. Delicious and fun.

Read this description with a smile, as it was well-worded. Yet there is, of course, truth behind the entertaining description — my experience with a sample of this soap was almost identical. A very peculiar scent journey.
