Dark Limes (Meißner Tremonia) lime & herbs
Sometimes I pick a soap just because I like the label. The bird logo looks interesting, and it's fun to decipher the product description. MT is made in Dortmund, so it makes sense that most of the wording is German. That's a curious language. The way words are made is very straightforward. Just mash ideas together without the bother of particles or prepositions. For instance in German the notion of 'post shave feel' is conveyed in just one word, hautgefühl. In English, using cognate words, we would say 'hide feel'. And that pretty succinctly describes what we're talking about when we talk about how a soap leaves your face feeling after the final rinse. By the way, this soap's hide feel is very comfortable thanks to jojoba and cold-pressed Macadamia nut oils.

Mint Ice Menthol (Meißner Tremonia) peppermint & menthol
MT makes two versions of their soaps, a dense puck and a surprisingly light and airy paste. I used a sample of the paste today. Just a dab made an excellent, thirsty lather. Yes, it smelled a little like toothpaste, but I found it pleasant and refreshing, especially on this hot, muggy afternoon. There's also supposed to be some eucalyptus in the mix, but I couldn't pick it out. The menthol, though, was clearly there. I got a polar chill that lasted a good twenty minutes.
