The Trail (Noble Otter) ★★★★★ pine, fir, sage, lavender, oakmoss, juniper, rain, pine tar
It's not often I come across a soap this compelling. After only one shave from my sample, I immediately ordered a full tub of The Trail from Noble Otter. Why? The scent is so transporting. It perfectly represents the smells of the Pacific Northwest back country. It's the lodge at Lake Quinault at sunset, a long hike through the Hoh rain forest, and a sunny afternoon on the slopes of Mt Rainier just above Paradise Inn. Piney fresh, a little flowery, with just a whiff of smoke, The Trail is for me an ideal summer soap. Does it lather? Yes, very well, and it leaves my face plump and comfortable, even without an aftershave. I leave the lid off the tub because I like the way it turns our little cottage on the beach into a mossy cabin deep in the evergreen woods.
