Moroccan Rhassoul (Meißner Tremonia) clove, amber, smoke
After just one sniff you may think you've got another clovey bay rum on your brush, but give it some time, and you'll soon realize there's really no bay and there's certainly no rum. This one's all about spice. What you get is some soft clove cradled in a cushion of light amber, all overlaid with a puff of incense smoke. In other words, a quiet corner in the souk.
This hard vegetable soap has always worked well for me. Thanks to the rhassoul (a slick clay similar to bentonite) it provides as much protection as a tallow soap. But like many clay-based soups, it finishes dry at first. Happily, after about an hour, the emollients (babassu, macadamia, copaiba & jojoba oils) come to the front, and by the end of the day your face may well feel like it's been to the hammam.
