This soap needs a good whipping in the lathering bowl before it gives up anything useful. Even after four minutes of soulful agitation it seems too light and fluffy. Little puffs of suds are scattered all around my feet. I dab it on careful not pop too many bubbles for fear that the whole concoction will deflate. Yet somehow it always gives me a superbly close shave and a soft smooth sensation that rivals even the best soaps on my shelf.

I've found with this one the Oud-Santal and possibly the Italian Barbershop but that one performs well for me. Load heavy, paint on your face then begin to make a lather and you'll have a thick lather.
On an eternal den clearing mission at this point.
Russian Leather (Wickham 1912) leather & musk
This makes a superb lather, not quite as dense or wet as a tallow soap, but every bit as comfortable. The scent is deep and earthy with a good dose of musk. It was the perfect tub to reach for on a mid-autumn morning.
