Grafton (Truefitt & Hill) incensy fougère
I’ve been using this tub of cream for over a year, and I’ve enjoyed its fresh green scent. It's easy to pick out the tonka, lavender, and herbs, the makings of a light fougère. They're supposed to be supported by incense, but oddly I’ve never really smelled anything smoky or resinous in either the cream or the lather. Lately, however, at night, we’ve been burning Japanese incense. So, maybe I’ve just got a lot of smoke up my nose, but this morning when I opened Grafton, I picked up the same sweet smoky vibe, not front and center, but buried deep under the lavender and tarragon that blanket most of the fragrance. It was a pleasant surprise that helped me enjoy today’s shave all the more.
