Lolita Haze: Do you always have to shave twice a day?
Humbert Humbert: Yes, of course, because all the best people shave twice a day

Tallow + Steel West Coast IPA
Tallow + Steel makes one of my favorite soap bases. Use of this particular scent may warrant a bit of caution, though, as it may lead others around you to believe you’ve been applying certain liquids down your throat (instead of on your face).
Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

Rosa Bourbon (Eufros) pure rose
Every now and then I’m tempted to sell off stock and content myself with just one tub of my favorite unscented suds. What’s the point, I ask myself, of collecting dozens upon dozens of soaps when the scent of each lather lasts less than thirty minutes. Then I open a tub of this ambrosia, this heavenly rose, and I remember that though my time with a soap is less than half an hour, it’s still one of the happiest half hours of the day. Best to make every moment a pleasure in rich satisfaction of all the senses.

But then I remember all the times that I open one of the boxes of soaps that I have, and sniff through each soap that’s in that box. And I realize — as fleeting as the moments are (whether I’m shaving with a soap or just opening the jar to catch a whiff), something is right if it has me shaking my head and saying to myself: ”That is such an unbelievable scent!”
