Le Chypre Sombre (Cold River Soap Works) lavender, oak moss, musk, amber
The other night I found a bottle of Drakkar Noir in the grocery store right next to the Depends. That's a pretty obvious hint that this scent has passed its prime. Nevertheless, I helped myself to a generous squirt, and all of a sudden it was 1987 again. I instinctively reached up to the back of my neck to check for a mullet that's been gone for decades.
Does Le Chypre Sombre smell like Drakkar? Sort of, but the resemblance isn't close enough to work the time travel magic. In fact, the soap's scent is more complex and fresh than perfume's. I like it, but I can't find anyone under the age of twenty-five who doesn't gag when they smell it.
