What soap/cream did you use today?

Royal Fougère (Asylum Shave Works) Pepper-funk fougère

This is my first tin of WSP/Asylum soap. I hoped for, and got, a clean trouble free shave, but that’s not why I really ordered the soap. Rumors of its rich green scent have been drifting through the forums lately, and I succumbed. As I unscrewed the lid, I got the distinct note of wintergreen and a big whiff of peppermint, followed by a garden of green herbs, oak moss, and coumarin. The real surprise, though, came at the end of a long sniff. There's a sweet, dark, dirty funk lurking at the bottom of this fragrance. I think it’s castoreum. It gives this prim scent a dab of beastiness. What does Royal Fougère smell like? Think of Penhaligon’s English Fern sprayed on a warm bit of saddle leather.
