Clay Face
Honolulu, Hawaii
Vétyver (Martin de Candre) pale vetiver

I read somewhere that both the leaves and the roots of the vetiver plant are aromatic and contributed distinct smells to perfumery. This doesn’t seem be so. As I was pruning the garden the other day, I snipped a handful of grassy blades from a clump of vetiver and took a deep breath. I was disappointed to find that the leaves have virtually no vetiver scent at all, much like my sample of this soap.
