Vetiver & Oakmoss (Mystic Water) vetiver roots

It’s been nearly three years since I started shaving with a double-edged safety razor. To celebrate the upcoming anniversary, I cleared a spot in the back yard this afternoon and planted a thick clump of vetiver grass. The shrub had been sitting at the nursery for a few days in the hot sun, so the tall spindly leaves were still too dry to be very fragrant, but the roots, when crushed in my palm, gave off the smoldering green scent of fresh vetiver. Among all the soaps on my shelf, the one that comes closest to what I smelled in the garden is Mystic Water’s Vetiver & Oakmoss. It captures the real root’s smokiness without making you feel like you’ve plunged your head into a steaming burn barrel.

I also planted night-blooming jasmine (JabonMan’s ‘Dama de Noche’), and ordered a few patchouli plants. Should I be concerned that the scents of my shaving soaps are not only consuming a good part of my attention, they're also taking over the landscape?
