Thanks, Bouki. If there’s one thing I’ve learned in this business, it’s to not skimp during the loading. And to add an extra few seconds after you think you’re already done loading the brush. So I will keep that and the slight blooming of the soap in mind when I do get around to acquiring this one.

Thanks for the wishes and all the best to you, too!

Juniper (Cold River Soap Works) juniper & vetiver

This soap could just as easily be named ‘Vetiver’. It’s true that the first whiff is mostly tart juniper, but that fades as I make the lather in my bowl. By the time I paint my face, the scent is almost entirely dry vetiver – rooty, a little dusty, but not in the least bit muddy.

Cold River serves their soaps up now in frosted Parkway jars. I like these containers so much that I ordered a dozen tubs and tops to house a few of my other soaps.

[S]ometime when I did intense long run, soaps tend to burn my face. i.e Cold River Soap Works Citrus Paradisi and a safe Stirling Orange Chill, and I use those regularly to know that it is not the ingredient in the soaps that makes my face burn, but perhaps the reaction of my skin after a run and all.
aerolord I've noticed the same phenomenon. My skin becomes much more sensitive in the hot summer months, especially after I've been working outside. Soaps that I could safely use in the cooler part of the year set my face aflame when the temperatures and humidity rises. I've taken to shaving only in cool water (there's no such thing as cold water here!). That allows me to keep enjoying the fruity scents that otherwise might bring on a blush.

I may just want to try sticking to mainly simple vegan soaps for my shave after an intense workout, I would think lesser ingredients may help in reducing the chance of burning sensation from it! But surprisingly, even after the burn yesterday (not intense burn, but definitely can feel it near the mouth area), my face did not turn red at all.

I'm also trying to figure out which is the ingredient that causes it, but so far the only same ingredients in those soaps that set my face on fire... are on most of my soaps... oh well back to square one.

Also love the essential oils in the Premium line.
