Soap Smooth Tallow - Jasmine Tea
First go with Soap Smooth and it burns my face, I will say it is not the fault of the soaps, sometime when I did intense long run, soaps tend to burn my face. i.e Cold River Soap Works Citrus Paradisi and a safe Stirling Orange Chill, and I use those regularly to know that it is not the ingredient in the soaps that makes my face burn, but perhaps the reaction of my skin after a run and all. Since once I rinse off the lather of Soap Smooth, the burn stops immediately, so it is definitely not a allergic reaction.
Soap Smooth Jasmine Tea, I got this soap because I want to try Soap Smooth and I need to get a scent that my girlfriend will enjoy since she is interested to try wet shaving as well. Scent is much like you expect from the scent of the soap, Jasmine Tea, pretty spot on. It was easy to load and lather, I didn't have to spend much time to get to the consistency that I like; thick, cushion, sheen and slick. Though I will say the post shave was just average for me, it does it jobs but it leaves me to desire more. But the performance is fantastic, you won't be let down by the performance.

Just remember to soften the surface with a few drops of warm water, and then load your brush generously. I started off using a synthetic brush with this soap, but I was too stingy in my loading. The real advantage of my badger brush (an itty-bitty Simpson Commodore X1 best badger) is that it's quite greedy, scooping up a good deal of soap with each swirl. Happy shaves, and a happy day!(03-14-2017, 06:40 AM)Bouki Wrote: Stella Alpina (Saponificio Varesino) citrus, eucalyptus, herbs, amber muskHmm, this soap is on my shopping list (thanks to you and a couple of my current hometown DFSers), but I don’t use badger brushes. Should I be worried…?
…
The only other peculiarity I’ve noticed is the soap’s preference for a badger brush. I made some mediocre, thin lathers when I used a synthetic, but when I broke out the badger, I found myself knee-deep in cream.

My skin becomes much more sensitive in the hot summer months, especially after I've been working outside. Soaps that I could safely use in the cooler part of the year set my face aflame when the temperatures and humidity rises. I've taken to shaving only in cool water (there's no such thing as cold water here!). That allows me to keep enjoying the fruity scents that otherwise might bring on a blush.
