What soap/cream did you use today?

Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet shaving soap (tallow) + Blenheim Bouquet shaving cream, making lather so rich that it was almost  too thick.

What is your process for mixing the cream & soap and applying the lather?

What is your process for mixing the cream & soap and applying the lather?

I load the damp brush with soap, lather it in the scuttle bowl about halfway, putting in droplets of water as needed, then add the cream (a squeeze or small spoonful), and finish building the lather. I've tried adding a few drops of glycerine, as suggested by others for superlathers, but with my soaps and creams it doesn't seem to add appreciably to the quality.

That sounds wonderful. I will have to give it a try some day.
