Stella Alpina (Saponificio Varesino) citrus, eucalyptus, amber musk

I moved back to a synthetic brush, and once again I got a slight burn and some tenderness. Even though the lather was creamy and rich, it still seemed to lack cushion, and by early afternoon I reached for some balm for relief. I don’t think the type of brush has much to do with it. I suspect I may be sensitive to one of the 35 ingredients that go into this saponified apothecary. That’s a shame because I enjoy this soap’s scent, especially the citrus. But I don’t think I could make this an everyday soap without making a hash of my skin.

Thirty-five ingredients, wow… There’s a good chance that something in there will not be friendly for everyone’s skin. Interesting that the badger brush seemed to work so well, though. One would think that a synthetic has the least chance of being irritating. (But as you said, it probably wasn’t the brush.)
Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

Today’s soap: Stirling Soap Company Ozark Mountain.

It’s the original “Car-Freshner” scent, or at least close to it, but I enjoy it. Smile
This was my final shave with a sample I got over a year ago. I lathered with reckless abandon and enjoyed the results immensely.
