Stella Alpina (Saponificio Varesino) citrus, eucalyptus, musk
Without clay or tallow, this soap makes a lighter lather. Although it’s fairly slick, I could wish for more protection from the razor’s edge. No weepers today, but I was burned in one or two spots, and an hour after the shave, my skin still felt tender. But once this sensation passed, I realized I had one of the closest shaves ever. My cheeks felt as though they had been glazed, they were so clean and smooth. I suspect this soap will take some fiddling before I get a denser emulsion. Next time I’ll bloom it with a 'thin veil of hot water,' as the artisan recommends.
