Rosas (JabonMan/Eufros) green rose
After class, in high school, I worked at a florist, delivering bouquets, sweeping the floors, and cleaning the newly arrived flowers. The long stemmed roses had to be stripped of their thorns and lower leaves and any bruised petals before they could be boxed and sent to prospective sweethearts or insulted lovers. I’d clean them by the dozen, tiny pink tea roses, gorgeous bridal whites, hearty reds, and my favorites, the yellows, signifying friendship, or at least a truce. As I trimmed the stems, the leaves and petals and thorns would pile up at my feet, and when I swept them all together and bent over to scoop them up, I was greeted by the same fresh green rosy scent that Manuel’s used to grace this soap.
