Stella Alpina (Saponificio Varesino) Ricola
Stella Alpina offers a fresh, vigorous scent that reminds me of balsamy mountain valleys and flower freckled slopes. This soap’s complex blend of citrus, green herbs, eucalyptus, and amber engaged my nose for an hour as I tried to sort out the intertwining scents. It smelled very familiar, though I couldn’t put my finger on exactly what it reminded me of, until I reached for a lozenge to soothe my sore throat. As soon as I unwrapped one, I recognized a near match: Stella Alpina’s fragrance is a close cousin with Ricola’s Original Swiss Alpine Herb Throat Drops.

There are so many excellent soaps these days! It's hard to find one I wouldn't recommend, even after only one shave. But to be thorough, and fair, I thought I should try a soap a few times before giving it a rating. So, instead of peppering my entries with blue stars every time I write about a soap, I decided to hold the rating until I had lathered it at least five times.
Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”
