Meißner Tremonia Strong ’n Scottish (paste).

Although the name would lead to think of a whisky scent, the first thing I’m reminded of is tar. The missus thought the exact same thing as she entered the room when I was shaving. She doesn’t enjoy this scent. But I do — quite a bit, in fact. Another thing I enjoyed is the exceedingly pleasing performance of this paste.

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

Clay Face
Honolulu, Hawaii
Himalayan Heights (Meißner Tremonia) wet cement & cedar

We grew up in a house at the top of hill with a long cement driveway. One side of the drive was bordered with blue spruce, the other with juniper bushes. A thick layer of redwood chips lay around the plants. On hot summer evenings my uncle would douse them with the hose. The water ran off the trees and bushes and spilled onto the drive and steamed up quickly, and with it rose the smell of Himalayan Heights.

The soap's appeal goes beyond nostalgia. It protects my face very well. Twelve hours after my shave my skin is still smooth and soft without any waxy or oily feel. I could use this soap for a long time without growing tired of it.
