Sandalwood (Cold River Soap Works) rooty sandalwood
I think I’ve given more of my money to Cold River than to any other soap maker. One of the first artisanal brands I sampled, CRSW played a prominent role in my shaving for about a year. Nowadays, I don’t crack these tubs open too often, but when I do, I’m still astonished by the thick, wet lather these pucks produce. The finish may be a little waxy and a little dry, but the scents make my middle-aged nose happy. Most aren’t very complex, but what’s there smells like genuine quality.
