What soap/cream did you use today?

Definitely a soap that doesn't get enough love!  That might be because of the size of the tin, but i love it for traveling...

Today marks five hundred consecutive shaves for me. Here’s what I’ve learned: (1) one pass is enough; (2) most aftershaves lead to irritation; (3) I like a razor that weighs between forty and sixty grams; (4) floppy synthetic knots make the best lather; (5) it’s impossible to finish a tub of soap; (6) heat and humidity are rough on my skin; (7) menthol is a lovely thing; (8) Wizamets are great blades, but there are plenty of others that work well, too; (9) razor stands look cool, but I don’t use them much since I put my razors in a box after most shaves to keep them away from the salty air; (10) I have as much fun looking at your DFS posts as I do scraping the stubble off my face.

After my last puck of Windsor seized up and stopped making a decent shaving lather, I turned it into a hand soap. It worked for a little while, but with each day the suds got thinner and thinner while the soap grew harder and harder. I finally chucked the puck since I couldn’t even wash my hands with it. It was seven years old.

Today I started a new bowl of Windsor. It lathered up a great creamy cloud that went on slick and easy. Now this is the Windsor I remember from the early days of my shave odyssey. Let’s hope it keeps working until I’ve got nothing in this bowl but slivers.
