After spending the weekend in the Windy City, it was nice to get back to a big variety of soaps/splashes.  What I was most excited about for today's shave was the SS Overlander (thanks again vtmax!)  Three passes (no cleanup) and a BBS was achieved!

Ishtar (Abbate y La Mantia) earthy oud
Shave 4

The fragrance smells rich and interesting but it doesn’t last long. However, this isn’t necessarily a drawback. There are times when extended exposure to a scent can lead to weariness. Yet, with Ishtar, each time I unveil the lid, it's like encountering someone captivating for the very first time.

Interesting consistency (looks like Eucerin in the jar), is it as soft-paste as it looks? Need to be careful when loading from the jar, so you don't take too much?

Nero, I've never tried Eucerin, so I can't say how this soap measures up against it. But Ishtar is quite soft. To avoid overloading, I've been using one of Frank's great plastic spatulas to scoop out a dose for each shave. I smear that into a lather bowl. Right now I'm using about 1.7 grams per shave.
