XPEC Unscented shaving cream (original formula) + Penhaligon's Castile shaving cream (vintage). This combination makes great lather, but unfortunately the XPEC seems to absorb a lot of the good Castile fragrance. I'm going to have to rethink whether or not I want to continue using them together.

Midnight Stag (Chiseled Face) ★★★★ leather, gasoline, urinal puck
This one is for the shaver who has a cosy spot in his heart for the smell of a well used rest stop along a lonesome stretch of highway. There's not a thing wrong with the performance, and now, several hours after the trial, my face still feels as soft as an ear lobe.
Midnight Stag doesn't smell good, but it's a masterpiece of olfactory story telling, and it made me laugh.

Thanks for a nice review and good laugh! I’ve actually tried a soap or two that have had a background scent slightly reminiscent of a urinal puck. However, I have yet to see the artisan who actually has the fortitude to call their creation Urinal Puck.
Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

The scent notes given after the stars are entirely my own. It's what I smell when I huff the puck. So, Chiseled Face didn't say their soap smelled like a urinal puck (but it does
)
