B&M Le Grand Chypre
Excelsior Base

When all is said and done, Excelsior is still an excellent base.  This is one of my favorite scents and I am close to finishing off this tub and replacing it with the Omnibus version.  I much prefer the old labels (like this one) over the new ones just introduced.

Lately I've been using ETHOS soaps daily to give energy to Frank so he can get his new shop up and running so we can have new stuff.  I think if I keep this up long enough it should work.

Clay Face

Tonka Bean (Ethos) creamy nutty
Shave 2 ・ 136 g left

SOAP NOTE: This Tonka Bean is going to be a fall favorite. In the cool morning air, the soft nutty smell of tonka is a gentle introduction to the day. The lather isn’t super thick, but it works perfectly for me, especially when I’m content with just one or two pass. (AlphaFrank75, I'm impressed with your reasoning, and I think I'm going to join you. Ethos every day until Frank’s back in the saddle.)

BLADE NOTE: This one PolSilver blade has given me two weeks of shaves and it’s still not showing any signs of deterioration. I think the heavy weight of the brass Overlander razor may help prolong the efficiency of the blade, and the fact that I’m taking only a couple passes surely has something to do with the unexpectedly long lifespan. Nevertheless I’m still very impressed with it, and a little saddened too over my past practices. Why did I ever chuck these blades after only four shaves?

Interesting, I always felt they were good for 2.5 shaves, then needed to go. Gillette Nacet, like 1 shave.
Both have similar feel to the Gillette Platinums that AOS stores sold (now there are at least 2 other GPs in the wild), but the (AOS) GPs lasted a full 4 shaves... maybe beyond. YMMV!!
