Catie’s Bubbles Blugère

Easy to lather, and always producing a beautiful lather, the scent of Blugère truly splits the difference between blueberries and a typical fougère.

I would add to that list of vetiver scent impressions one that rears its head in some unfortunate cases: pickles. Smile

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

First shave with GD Boomer (Fortis base)
Nice scent and my skin is very soft. No complaints. Another anise forward fougere... ends with some vetiver, hence the choice of aftershave.

Original v. (Martin de Candre) lavender, rosemary

With a new pot of Original winging its way across the seas, it’s time to polish off the remnants of this fifty-gram jar. Sounds like an easy task, but truth be told, even after ten months of frequent use, there are still forty-four grams left. That’s enough for about thirty more shaves. I’m afraid you’re going to see a lot more of this soap in these daily posts as I do my best to find the bottom of the soap bowl. Luckily, Original is a fabulous soap, which I enjoy immensely. I hope you will enjoy reading about it too.

Thanks, Matsilainen! I'll add that to the list along with another I just heard about: "beet root."

What about everyone else? What does vetiver remind you of?

For me, I've smelled vetiver that seem sometimes like:
lemongrass
fresh green grass
decayed vegetation
wood
metal (yes, sometimes it's tinny)
smoke
scorched earth
damp earth
dry earth
roots
