Haslinger used to be a favorite of mine as it was around when this ball started rolling. It performed well, and still does. Scents are where it tails off though. I still have about 4 flavors, sheeps milk is the best but even it will not be replaced due to artificial scents. They are ok. Just not as good as can be had in a number of other places. Sage today and the shave was excellent.
Two days ago the temperature was absolutely perfect (for me, at least) in the upper fifties with lots of sunshine...great weather for raking leaves. Yesterday afternoon the arctic blast made it's way south. By the time I got home, the snow/ice was thick enough I couldn't get my car up our steep sloping driveway. So...yesterday afternoon became perfect weather for shoveling snow! In honor of our 1st snow of the year, I had to break out the obvious...

Haven't broken it out yet this year although we have had our first snow a few weeks back.
For those of you who have asked what is the soap like and what does the fragrance smell like.
The soap is as good as his other soap is is superb, I am certainly glad I purchased. The fragrance, very complex. I would have to describe it like a fine wine and I am not going to do that. Once again it is a great soap.

I thought this email would be helpful to all who have purchased Grooming Dept. soaps.
I believe this email was a big plus for the Grooming Dept. Many people are not aware of this because every artisan has different opinions. Most artisans do not give adequate use instructions. My suggestion, enclose this with every order you ship. You will be thanking yourself for it. Also, go to the following we site read it.

There were many new customers who purchased Grooming Dept soaps during the recent release. I plan on putting together a FAQ about the soaps. But here are some points which I believe you’ll find useful as you enjoy your new soaps
* Please don’t bloom any Grooming Dept soap.
* The amount that of soap that is needed is about 2g-4g per shave, unless you’re shaving larger areas ? I suggest getting a scale from Amazon, they cost about $12. It’s fun to see how many grams are used per shave for different brands too.
* Let the soap dry uncovered after usage for 24-48 hours.
* Don’t store soaps at temps higher than 85f/30c.
* Store the soaps in cool dry cabinet/shelf
* Some GD soaps do shrink as they age. Shrinkage is good, it’s partly because of certain ingredients in the soap it means the soap is drying out. I believe you’re getting the right amount of soap/water. If you don’t feel so, please contact me.
* Some soaps do have a drier surface that the lower portion of the soap. This is normal for a GD soap. The soap will continue to dry out as it ages. You’re receiving a fully cured soap that has a percentage water in it. So do all soaps fro all artisans.
* Grooming Dept soaps are not just soap with some ingredients that are good for the skin with label appeal. What makes the soaps unique is the complex number of ingredients that interact with soap to produce stunning lather with unparalleled post shave feel.
Thank you for your business.
