I use scented soaps because nice smelling things are better than stinky stuff.  Some scent is just pleasant.  Some scent takes me on a journey and Pre de Provence is one of those.  The scent is herbaceous and woody.  Not cedar or such but more like the stems of woody brush.  Main notes seem to be sage and rosemary but I pick up a note of pine in the background too.  This reminds me of an early fall ride up  the ridge between Cassia Creek and Stinson creek, still in the sage and potentilla and wyethia but headed up to the pines at the head of Stinson Creek.  The sun is warm but there is a bite of fall to the air too. And old Pal is stepping out lively.  Posting up above Hereford Springs I can see clear over into Clyde Valley to the north, the Jim Sage mountains to the east, and imposing Cache Peak to my south west.  Sucking in a lungful  of Idaho air and counting my blessings To have a day of work ahead of me and old Pal.  Yes, I like this soap.

You sir are correct! Did you also pick up one of my sons brushes with the set? What he came up with for this one is pretty cool and I feel really kept with the outdoor theme of the set. Perhaps the best post shave of all time. Scent is certainly nice.

How do you the Pekin? I am curious how it compares to the Lusso unscentes. I read someone said it was more of a winter soap compares to the lusso.

I have no idea what a winter soap is so I cannot answer the question.
Do I like this soap, not really for an unscented soap it has a slight animal scent.
Also to me it doesn't last too long, the jar is almost empty. But it's much better than the other unscented soap they have Tacit.

I think when they described it as a winter soap, the post shave felt very thick like a balm. Perfect answer as I was wondering about residual smell from the base. Thank you.

But on the plus side it does work well.
