Thanks for this excellent idea!
I am assuming the MMBT would also work, but have you tried other GEM style razors with injector blades?

I have only tried Injector blades in the Micromatic series of razors. I have used a half DE in a Gem Junior, and that works too but I prefer Gem blades in those.

For the half DE in a GEM Junior, was the blade held in place only by the top cap or did you have to use some sort of rig to secure the blade/make it work?
