Growth: 2 day beard
Prep: Warm shower: Stirling Sheep bar soap
Pre: Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
Brush: Semogue 1470
Lather: Van Der Hagen Select Shave Soap
Load Bowl: Old Spice Mug
Lather Bowl: Old Spice Mug
Razor: Yaqi Romulus, no shims
Handle: Yaqi Romulus, RR Barber Pole
Blade: Schick P-30 (D4.5)
Post: Stirling witch hazel, PAA Mysterium Serum
This was the first time shaving with the Yaqi Romulus. I picked it up second hand since I read it could handle the variation in holes that the Schick P-30 blades seem to have. So far, I have not been able to use P-30 blades with my Ti Vector, so this was an alternative for me.
I used the Romulus handle for the the start of the shave but had to switch to the Barber Pole handle when shaving my neck as the Romulus handle was too slick for me. The shorter RR handle changed the effective angle a bit and for the Romulus head. I think I liked the length of the Romulus handle better. I will look through my handle collection and see what I can find (before ordering more handles).
Overall, I was really impress with the Romulus head as it appears to solve my issue with wanting to use Schick P-30 blades. I had a really good shave.

Pear "The Sleek" (modified)
Post modification to fix the blade clamping issue, it gives a nice mild shave riding the cap much like an injector razor. The range of shaving angles is very narrow because of the lack of blade exposure. Somewhat difficult to modulate pressure as the only feedback you get is sound. Nevertheless, I think it would be easier to learn to shave with a razor like this rather than a DE safety razor.

Continuing my search for a handle that works well with the Romulus head, I tried both the Feather AS-D2 and Ti Vector handles. Both stick out a little, the AS-D2 more than the Vector if I remember correctly. The AS-D2 handle is a little shorter than the Yaqi Romulus handle but has a good grip. It worked well for the first pass. Second pass, I tried the Ti Vector handle which is the same length as the Yaqi Romulus handle. It was nimble but lacks grip. So the AS-D2 is the current choice for the Romulus head (sticking to handles that are around the same length as the Romulus handle), but I have a few more in my collection to try next.
