Hey Dave, love that lather catcher.  May I ask what you are using for a shim.  When I use my lather catchers I just use a GEM blade but no shim, even though these razors were probably intended for a wedge blade.  Do you find a major difference between using the shim with the blade as opposed to just using the blade?  Thanks for any information. Covered in my video, these older ones have no as in zero blade stop so Modern Gem blades slide right thru. I have an assortment of 3D printed wedges for different razors such as this one needs to function. My newer as in @1906 Star has stops and performs fine with no wedge.

PS I just happened into the thread and never got a notification of being quoted. Not the first time recently for this.....

Thanks, Dave.  I have about eight lather catchers and all have stops, including a STAR going back to at least 1900.  As for the lack of a notification on being quoted, it seems you're not the only one: https://damnfineshave.com/thread-i-m-not...hen-quoted.  You might want to add your concerns in the thread and let andrewjs18 know.  I definitely received a notification because you quoted me here.
