Razor: IBC
Blade: Kai Captain Titan ProTouch MG (D8)

Post: Stirling witch hazel, PAA Mysterium Serum

34th shave with the IBC. First time shaving with this razor in four years. I stopped using it once I figured I preferred AC blade format. My technique has improved quite a bit since that last IBC shave. First time using it with this blade. Though I prefer to have jimps to have a more sure grip, I had no slippage and did not use alum to increase the grip. I also prefer a longer tail, but with three fingers on the tang and one on the tail, it worked fine. The IBC is a nice, light razor that will give pretty shallow angle. I had one minor nick in the cheek to mustache transition area. I also had some razor burn in mustache area which I am sure that is an angle thing plus the last shave on this blade. I unscrewed the thumb knob a little and rinsed water in the holder to remove any potential stiction. I did that with the sink stopper closed just in case I unscrewed too far (so no washer parts would go down the sink). That caused the sliding portion of the blade holder to slide open (which helped with rinsing). I still am not sure of the leather case that comes with the razor as the back of the snap is exposed and could potentially scratch the razor but maybe it is sunk in enough not to be an issue. Overall a great shave considering it was almost four years ago since my last shave with it!

This was an A/B shave with the Kai Captain Standard R-Type folding razor.
I would say this was a close match. The Woody (with lip) was not as smooth in the 2 day stubble as the Standard (without lip). I had a weeper from the Standard and a few nicks from the Woody. I am not really a fan of this blade and from my previous shave notes, I prefer to use that blade in the Feather DX or Feather SR. I prefer the Kai Captain Titan ProTouch MG over the Feather Proguard for pretty much all my razors.

This was an A/B shave between the SR and DX with the Feather ProGuard blade. Overall, I preferred the DX as the grip felt more sure and the shave was a little closer.

Since this thread is titled 'What shavette did you use today?' ...

Prep: None
Brush: None
Lather: None
Razor: IBC barber razor
Blade: Laser Ultra 1/2 DE
Post: Pass-Thru RJ45 connector attached and crimped

I replaced both ends of a CAT6 network cable this evening and used my IBC to gently cut the outer casing without nicking the twisted pairs of wires inside. I just laid the cable across the cut outs in the scales and gently pushed the shank down (like I was closing the shank into the scales) as I twisted the cable. I did not like the Laser Ultra DE blades for shaving, but they work well for this purpose (and making shims for DE razors).

That was as close to shaving I came today but I plan to shave tomorrow.
