I have no lathe but over a period of almost 4 weeks I got this thing finished.
It is made of 24mm synthetic fiber. Maple. Pill bottle cap. $2 coin (Twonie in Canadian).
Four coats of Clear automobile lacquer. Nail polish. Lotsa sweat.

I gave it its first test today. It passed with flying colours. Tomorrow is its final exam.
Feel free to laugh.

It's amazing you did that without a lathe! Lots of sweat indeed! Enjoy!

Thank you Freddy and Chris.
I neither designed nor made the handle.
I think would be artists call it 'found art'.
I plagiarized (swiped) it from a 40 year old lamp.

DFS Envy White. I want to love this brush but the backbone is too much. Does anyone know if this will get softer with break in?

Today has come.

My brush performed as I hoped it would.

It passed Summa Cum Laude.

I am content.

It will now be a part of my weekly brush cycle.

I find myself eyeballing old stools and stair railings, looking for dead spindles laying around. Yiu just inspired me to stop looking and start picking!

I brought home a gorgeous end-grain slab of butternut yesterday from work that I remived from a fireplace mantel I was finishing. Its got some gorgeous endgrain patterns. Im gonna try and make a set of scales for one of my razors...

You two are incredibly resourceful and talented. I have a friend in Toledo who enjoys hitting the charity stores and has found some wonderful things that he either reuses or repurposes. Whenever I'm with him I almost always leave these shops empty handed. As I told him, when we go into this type of store all I see is junk. All my friend sees is possibilities.
