Jason, that is a beautiful brush. I, too, am a fan of the Mother Lode knot and since I only do face-painting I don't think I'll have a problem.
A friend set my Mother Lode in a Stirling handle that originally held a boar knot. I love this handle but wasn't crazy about the knot. Now. this has become one of my favorite brushes. (Stirling also uses a tuxedo synthetic knot with this handle and it is excellent.)
