Jeff, I had not heard of a "Faux" Horse knot so I just looked it up. It's an interesting concept. I have both a natural horsehair brush and a horsehair/boar combination brush, each of which I enjoy. How different is the faux horse from, say, a tuxedo synthetic or a natural horsehair?

Hi Freddy, in comparison to the tuxedo the faux horse is not as dense and slightly less soft. As a result of having less backbone, it splays easier and feels a little more springy than the tuxedo. Also, when using a circular motion for face lathering, the tiniest bit of scritch can be felt. Nowhere near as much as horsehair though. I had a horse brush once and hated it. I replaced the knot with a synthetic. So all that being said, I think it's my least favorite of the AP Shave Co. knots in terms of face feel but not really by a large margin. It still performs very well and I like it a lot. I do think it is the best looking knot of the bunch. I love the color of it. Hope this helps!

Thanks, Jeff. Yes it does help. I keep being amazed at how far synthetic brushes have come since my first couple, which were pretty awful. Today, my favorite brushes are synthetics. Now, synthetic horsehair; amazing.

I agree - the faux horse knot looks great. I just wish it was offered in a larger knot size.
