I mostly stay out of these threads but I will offer this one opinion and get out:

I was new to the forums when all this went down, but followed it in real time, and I really don't care who posted who about what. Texts/posts/e-mails back and forth "proving" something or another to me are like A$$h0\=$: we all have one. There is no definitive proof one way or the other of any of these allegations, and the one artisan I truly trust has stayed classy enough to stay out. Even if she/he piped up, it would still be hearsay, and I really could care less.

But, the fact remains that Douglas/Eric/Smythe/Hodges/HTGAM/PPF/PAA/Crown King has created a persona, and commented on it being successful marketing. I am fine with that, and respect it. He is a marketer; good for him. Multiple (hundreds if not thousands of times), we hear, "Shouldn't a guy get a second chance?"  Sure, assuming we aren't talking pedophile/murderer type of stuff, but to me, there are dozens of artisans that haven't even gotten a first chance yet, and several whose records are BEYOND REPROACH that my money will travel to long before I get around to buying PAA.

On another thread, a poster referred to PAA as the Mickey D's of the wet shaving world. My thought exactly.

Eric/Douglas/Frances/whatever:  I wish you the best of luck in whatever you continue to pursue.  And I know it likely means less than zero, but the schtick is a complete turnoff.

Maybe since he's responded to here, I can find out from him why this soap develops a white, thickish film on its surface? I always rinse the puck and allow the surface to dry before replacing the lid. No other soap in my den has this issue. Sorry for the detour, but I have been wanting to know for a while and there might be others with a similar issue.

By the time of this thread it really was a moot point, the error had already been corrected on our labels and fixed. The label in question was an old one. It was the order of ingredients that was wrong. But I understand your concern. However, as we speak in this thread today our soaps are currently in a lab in the EU on route to being EU certified! So this should put a lot of concern to rest.

Perhaps you missed my question? Here it is again.

Oops sorry, missed that. The specks are soap. tiny air pockets, they shouldn't be new but were always there. If they are more cream colored, it could be the Maca powder. All in all, the soap is fine but funky looking, this will not effect performance one bit! Sorry again for missing that sir! Smile

Jeja Fougere, CaD, Vloid are fantastic scents and the new 3.0 formula is one of the best vegan soaps out there.

Thank you for responding. I appreciate that. To be clear, and I won't bother you again with this issue, this is not simply "specks", but rather an entire "layer", approximately 1mm thick across the entire surface of the soap. I don't perceive it as dangerous; it washes off, the soap performs well; but if it's not used daily, will return and "grow" if you will. It's as if the soap ingredients are separating. (I am NO expert, by any means) BTW, the cavendish scent is terrific, the alcohol AS (which I was very fortunate to find, along with the ASB) are also good products. Wish I could have found the Vetiver ASB... Sad

Yeah, those are tiny air pockets then, like the head of a Guiness when poured. It had to do with the temp when poured and how whipped up it was. Like the beer, it's the same as the base just containing air.

I used Good Vibrations for my head shave last night. Fantastic scent. Absolutely love it, and it really performs at the top of my experience level. Great stuff.

Also...check out the Oud Spice. I believe it comes in both soap and splash. Ive never smelled it, because I have no idea what oud smells like, but its in the PAA lineup...

You should try Agarwood or Oud sometime, you might like it too. Thanks for the suggestion. He didn't reply to me but I'm glad you did. Have a good one buddy.

Thank you sir! Sangre is one of my personal favorites as well as Oud (agarwood) in general! I seem to be missing notifications for this thread so if you want to pick my brain, anytime, email me: support@phoenixshaving.com

Greetings Sir!
To clarify, PAA formula 3.0 (current) and Crown King (High Butter Formulation) are different. We worked our butts off creating both and are very, VERY satisfied with our results! Hope you find this helpful!
Cheers
