I used the Good Vibrations soap this morning followed by a free sample of CaD balm that was a bonus "toss-in" with the rest of my order. The scent of the soap really does remind me of mid-summer boardwalk strolls past the open barbershop door...sunscreen, coconut oil, talc...I could almost hear the Beach Boys during my shave this morning. Fantastic slickness, excellent cushion(dense, but not voluminous ), and great, summery scent.
The CaD balm smelled great, but I am not a fan of aftershave balms. Application is an issue for me. I don't like the way balms feel in my hands or on my head until they dry down and dissipate. All balms, not just this one, though this one is thicker than the others I have tried. Not to my liking, but it smelled as it should(classic barbershop), and performed at it should leaving my scalp feeling nicely toned and well-moisturized.
The Ibis Shavette again performed beyond my expectations. The handle gets in the way a little bit, but I think this is a limitation of my technique more than the tool. Afterall, this was only my second time holding the thing, so I imagine the experience will only improve with practice.
