Today, it was this Apex Whisker Reducer the El Jefe by Ikon. However, there are some razors here already mentioned that are just simply superb. I haven’t sampled the Vector Ti but, based on reports that I’ve read it’s a well loved razor with the reports to back it up.

I wish I had the opportunity to try the El Jefe.
I am looking for a AC style razor under $100. Narrowed it down to Yaqi/Shield with the edge to Shield (I prefer more aggressive than mild).

Any other razors I should consider in this price point? It doesn't have to be new. I'm perfectly fine with something off the BST listings.

I have an IKON MR-SE (revised version of the El Jefe). If you're in the States, pm me. I'll let you take it for a spin.

Mine was the Cobra Classic until just recently.  The proprietary blade loading mechanism is holding the blade too loosely in place now.  It could easily open accidently during the shave now. Not sure how well Classic Shaving would handle replacing the bar.

My experience with AC razors is the General, Occam, Occam OREN, asylum RX V1, and Cobra.

Asylum RX V1 was too harsh for me.  I would like to try the V2 someday.  The General was pretty good.  Occam and the OREN are very mild.  OREN has a much better handle.  I really love the design of the floating head.

What say you gents?

I would be happy to loan you my Rx V2.  It's one of the seconds that has a loose cap without a blade inserted.  Zero issues with a blade loaded.  Hit me up if you're interested.

Until recently my favorite AC razors were the Vector twins, SS and Ti.  For the last week I've been using a SS La Faux ++ and it might become my #1 AC.

I find the YAQI Romulus to be a very mild shaver.  I've tried Proline, Feather Professional and KAI Pinks and with any of those blades this razor is pure autopilot shaving.

For a heavy weight AC razor, I really like the Claymore Evolution.

My only AC razor is an Above the Tie SE1. I do not enjoy shaving with that razor as I find the razor too heavy and the wide head reduces maneuverability. If I desire using a SE razor, I much prefer a Schick injector. The compact head of the Type L is much lighter and more maneuverable making it easy to shave around ears, sideburns, nose and mustache.

The only way I would want to use an AC razor is if it is made of titanium and perhaps even aluminum to reduce the weight. The funny thing is that I do not mind using heavy DE razors, but I do not like using a heavy AC SE razor.
