What's so special about Wald Brushes?

Another A1 from Jannik arrived. Special shave brush in my use. Beautiful softness combined with enough healthy backbone in support. The lather it creates is wonderful and creamier than other brushes. Quite unique. I am partial to Jannik’s solid colors, butterscotch being a favorite. 

I like the solid colours too. They really show the depth of the polish. I have a few Walds but my Werthers and Raven handles are my favourites.

Wald announced a new "Stripe" design

I can usually tell within 4 uses whether a brush, soap, razor, or blade are to my liking or not.  For the first time I find myself in agreement with Tester28.   Usually we're on opposite ends of the spectrum, but not this time.  I've already moved it on, and I hope the buyer enjoys it more than I did.  I'm going to stick with boars.

I have used quite a few synthetic brushes over the decades including new designs (I have one right now in my travel kit) and I don't see how any face latherer who enjoys a well broken in boar brush could ever be satisfied with a synthetic.  Having said that, I can see how someone with a light beard, sensitive skin and a creme soap/lather bowl user would be delighted with one.  I also think that the Wald A1 handles with the jagged streak running around them are quite handsome. 

If they made that handle with a Semogue boar knot I would be very tempted.
