A simple but very good breakfast this morning: oatmeal with cinnamoned banana, blueberries, and walnuts.

Tonight I had leftovers to make room in the reefer for my Dads Day meal yet to come*. Tonight, a bear burger with beef gravy, noodles, and home canned corn.

*For us buying food out is special and we generally get a Pu Pu for 2. Normally we eat home cooked food. The wife has been hinting about store bought pizza though. It all works for me as long as I don't need to cook it. Pizza might be the better choice since I've been thinking of making moose Lo Mein (with leftovers) (moose tastes something like beef). We also have a thawed butt in the reefer for char sui pork, so I expect we'll be in Chinese food overload and pizza will be a great option.

Breakfast this morning. Sorry no pix.

I've made Chef Ramseys scrambled eggs twice. I'm no lover of runny eggs, but these aren't that, yet they are moist and custard like. The first time I tried them I knew that they'd be good with sausage sliced into the mix.

Thats how I made them today. I would have used kielbasa, but I won't buy it since I've been spoiled with our homemade version. But I had a packet of garlic chicken sausage, and it tastes something like kielbasa. For 7 eggs I used 1 1/2 5" long sausages sliced thinly. They went into a saucepan along with 2 TBLs of butter. The eggs were fully whisked to make them uniform in color then added to the sausage and butter. I followed Ramseys procedure and at the end added some sour cream (maybe 1 1/2 TBL), garlic salt instead of sea salt, and some blk pepper. The result was a creamy scrambled egg infused with the garlic sausage flavor. As I wrote I wish I'd had kielbasa, it would be excellent in it. No I can't eat 7 eggs, but I have breakfast already cooked for tomorrow, just gently microwaved to warm them up. The final product is even better due to the hen fruit that our hens give us. Their eggs have yolks a deep yellow, almost orange. The eggs I ate today were laid yesterday so they don't get much fresher.

Buttered seeded rye toast completed breakfast.

Anyone wanting Chef Ramseys scrambled egg recipe just go to youtube and do a search for it.

I have to admit...I'm not a cook by any stretch of the imagination. When I was single, I basically lived on cereal, sandwiches, and cheese & crackers...and lots barley and hops! But one of the few things i can cook is chili. None of my friends or family will even try it anymore. It's made extremely HOT. I'll use ghost peppers when I can find them but, otherwise, I just use one of my 2 dozen or so habenero and hot sauces.

I've got the house to myself for the next few nights so I made a batch that should last me a few days Big Grin

HT, I'm salivating. I'm a hot head too and I love chili. I don't make it hot unless I know no one else will be eating it. Most times I just add habanero hot sauce also, or my own extract of habaneros.

Grilled a pork loin roast and some corn on the cob this afternoon. We will be able to make 3 more dinners from this beast!
