With the BB Safety Bar it was love at first shave. I tend to like open combs, though, so I tried the BB OC and we got off to a rough start. Where the SB feels smooth, the OC felt harsh. I emailed Shane, who responded immediately. He advised me to give it another few tries and if I still didn't like it, to send it back for an exchange or refund. 

With the SB I found the angle immediately. With the OC, there was a learning curve. Shane's advice was right on. Today I had an excellent shave with it. It's a keeper. For some reason it took me a while to find the proper angle. I'm glad it's in the den. This might become the daily driver. And the Blackland customer service is second to none.

Update: 7 August 2020. I had another great shave with the BB OC yesterday. Between Blackland and Timeless, I feel as if I could part with my other razors and not miss them. It's amazing to me just how good these two brands are, for my face at least.
