The SE-G, unfortunately, I didn't align the blade properly due to poor eyesight and got a few cuts. After proper alignment under strong light, the rest went fine.

That's a great looking razor Freddy! Does it shave similar to the GEM 1912?

Ironically, HoosierShave, my GEM 1912 is up for tomorrow's shave.  To my mind, the 1912 is more of a transitional razor, somewhere between the traditional lather catcher and the modern SE razor like the GEM Featherweight and others.  The lather catcher head looks and feels lighter and the blade gives almost as much audible feedback (what I call singing) as a straight razor.  For lack of a better description, it feels lighter on my face and seems to give a gentler shave.  However, that could just be in my head and not have too much to do with the actual shave.  I enjoy and use both razors but I think if I had to choose, I'd go with the 1907 lather catcher.  I readily admit that part of the reason for that is the age and look of the 1907.  The 1912, while only five years younger (based on patent), is already showing signs of what would be coming in my lifetime.  (I was born in 1945 so 1950s razors are within my memory.)  In any event, both give fine shaves.
