It's a tie between Dorcos and Derby. Fortunately these two brands were not in the first group of blades I tried .

[Image: k3QukFl.jpg]I just got 4 shaves from 1 of these blades, so a Zorrik is not is not an all time favorite worst.

All the best to you, alphege, and it just goes to show why YMMV. I ranked them as my worst blade. Go figure. Confused2

I was going to say Derby, but I just tried a new Derby Platinum and it shaved fine. Now I wonder if my bad experience with Derby was due to inexperience, since it was very early on when I tried it. I'm not even sure I knew how to make a proper lather then!

I know what you mean, I've been re-visiting some of my old "bad blades" to see if they've improved with my technique or with a different razor. In some instances they have.

Hi Marko,

Anything made by SuperMax for me. Derby wasn't great. But I believe my most painful shave was actually with a Gillette Platinum blade. I know many like them, but they seem very harsh on my skin.

Hi Red Tipped Cobra , I've never tried anything made by Supermax but I'm curious now and will have to try to get some. I like the Gillette blades, pretty much all of them, silver blue, stainless, platinum. I've been trying some of the blades that I initially tried in a EJ DE89 in other razors. The ikon #102 seems to have a wide range of blades that work well with it. I've yet to find a comfortable blade for the ATT razor I have even after switching from the regular base plate to the mild.
Cheers,

I, too, had written the Derby off as a result of it not performing well in my vintage Gillettes. Along came a Feather AS-D2 to my den and lo-and-behold, the Derby provided a completely acceptable shave over 3 uses. Kinda flies in the face of the "use a sharp blade in a less aggresive razor" advice, but then Feathers are fine in the AS-D2 as well. I can't seem to make the AS-D2 do badly regardless of blade selected.
