I'd say go for it. The frown can be removed, but I guess it comes down to cost of repair whether you go that route, or buy another. Either way, Hector, you have plenty of time in the mornings to give it a try.Smile

It looks like the scales are ivory rather than celluloid, but I can't be positive from the picture. Also since it is a Joseph Elliot's Best Silver Steel, rather than Joseph Elliot & Sons, my best guess is that it is a mid-19th century razor. Probably in the vicinity of 1840-1850. Just a guess though.

Nice find!... I speak as I know of such things. Lol.

I did start with a feather ss, and I do think u get a closer shave with it..


I'm starting to shave with my DE and finishing touch ups with my ss....

Straights are definitely more satisfying as you can see the hair in your lather...

If you remove the stabilizer and really set the bevel yes,a Gold dollar is a decent option.the finish is the biggest thing with them.the steel is fine.
