Maribor (dark, sexy, spicy, sweet barbershop) – Stirling
Based on John Varvatos Vintage, this woody Chypre is a blend of rhubarb, quince, pepper, wormwood, basil and fennel at the top, cinnamon, juniper berries, lavender, green leaves, jasmine and orris root in the middle and a base of tobacco, suede, balsam fir, tonka bean, oakmoss and patchouli.
Takeaway impression for me is that Maribor dries quickly to a dark, slightly spicy, sweet finish. The soap it most brings to mind in my aggregation is Barrbarr by Noble Otter. Performance is running moderate, and scent complexity and quality for me meet or exceed the $22-for-50mL price point.

This is the new extrait version of Encens Suave EDP, which I keep posting here because it's one of my top scents and I wear it a lot. My favorite for fall/winter. I've tried the Extrait sample two or three times now. Seems richer and more resinous than the EDP, but, on the other hand, not as light and enjoyable. I also seem to get poor performance from it, which is odd since the EDP gives incredible performance and this is an extrait. Will keep trying as I got myself two of these sample sizes from Matiere Premiere.
